COURT HOLIDAYS

The United States District Court will be closed for the following holidays:

Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday (third Monday in January)
President's Day (third Monday in February)
Memorial Day (last Monday in May)
Independence Day - Monday July 4, 2011
Labor Day (first Monday in September)
Columbus Day (second Monday in October)
Veteran's Day - November 11
Thanksgiving (fourth Thursday in November)
Christmas Day - Monday, December 26, 2011
New Year's Day - Monday, January 2, 2012
Additional Holiday Closings for 2011: Per Administrative Order 11-091, the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan will be closed for regular business on November 25, 2011, and December 23, 2011. All District Court filings due on November 25, 2011 and December 23, 2011, will be accepted as timely on Monday, November 28, 2011 and Tuesday, December 27, 2011, respectively.

Note: Whenever one of the holidays falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is treated as the holiday and whenever a holiday occurs on a Saturday, the Friday immediately before is treated as the holiday.
