COURT HOLIDAYS

Due to an Executive Order signed by President Bush closing the Executive Branch on December 24, 2007, the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan will also be closed on December 24, 2007.

The United States District Court will be closed for the following holidays:

• New Year's Day, January 1
• Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday (third Monday in January)
• President's Day (third Monday in February)
• Memorial Day (last Monday in May)
• Independence Day, July 4
• Labor Day (first Monday in September)
• Columbus Day (second Monday in October)
• Veteran's Day, November 11
• Thanksgiving (fourth Thursday in November)
• Christmas Day, December 25

Note:  Whenever one of the holidays falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is treated as the holiday and whenever a holiday occurs on a Saturday, the Friday immediately before is treated as the holiday.
