*Note: Some hotels may limit the number of government-rate rooms available during peak periods. If the rate is unavailable, try another hotel unless you find a lower rate. Please avoid third-party booking websites (e.g. Hotels.com, Booking.com), as they do not offer government rates and may charge non-reimbursable service fees.
Counties Whose Residents Report to Kalamazoo
Allegan, Berrien, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, Van Buren
All jurors who are required to report in person will receive a daily attendance fee of $50.00 and at least one round-trip mileage reimbursement by check within 10-15 days of service.
Optional Overnight Subsistence Reimbursement - Jurors with a substantial driving distance have the option to stay overnight at a hotel of their choice or with local family/friends and claim subsistence reimbursement up to current government rate if they meet the following:
- Must be required to report to court for jury selection or jury service the following day
- Must live:
- at least 75 miles one way (April 1 - October 31) -OR-
- at least 50 miles one way (November 1 - March 31)
- Must submit paid hotel receipt
- No meal receipts required; standard meal stipend will automatically be included on check if stayed overnight either at hotel or with family/friends.

- Jurors who qualify for subsistence may choose to drive daily (will not receive meal stipend)
- Jurors may alternate staying overnight/driving during the time spent serving on a jury (must notify jury clerk daily)
